La Coordination Générale de l’Organisation Les Amis d’Haïti a procédé, le samedi 18 mars 2023, dans la commune des Cayes, au lancement officiel du projet Haïti Ecolo Plus « HECOP 2023 » avec le soutien de l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) en présence de plusieurs représentants d’organisations partenaires.

En effet, Les communes ciblées par le projet, récemment victimes d’un séisme en Aout 2021, sont très vulnérables face au catastrophe naturelle. La plupart d’entre elles font face à une forte concentration de population liée à un exorde rural très poussés qui met les autorités locales dans l’incapacité de gérer avec efficacité les déchets qui contribuent à l’augmentation des gaz à effet de serre et de grosses inondations surtout en période cyclonique. Ces communes font face à une sécheresse et une désertification accélérées causées par le changement climatique, les mauvaises pratiques agricoles, de pêche et le déboisement.

Certaines d’entre elles sont versées dans la pêche mais sans aucune formation ni orientation. Par manque d’innovation et d’emploi dans ces communes, les jeunes se lancent dans la vente de boissons gazeuses qui génère beaucoup de déchets plastiques sans aucune alternative de recyclage en perspective. Pour pallier à ces problèmes, Les Amis d’Haïti – LAD’HA propose à travers ce projet des Ateliers de formation sur la protection de l’environnement, le recyclage des déchets, l’entrepreneuriat; des campagnes de sensibilisation sur la valorisation des déchets ; le renforcement technique des capacités des autorités locales et des OCB intervenant dans le domaine de l’environnement.

Dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de ce projet, nous envisageons de participer au renforcement des capacités des jeunes écoliers, étudiants, entrepreneurs, leaders communautaires âgés entre 15 et 30 ans et renforcer les capacités des autorités locales et des organisations communautaires de base sur les thématiques de changement climatique et de protection de l’environnement.
